Well we finally hit into the 80s this weekend which was AMAZING! I took my paddle board out Saturday and Sunday and spent most the day just paddling, floating and sketching a bit, too. There was this neat house I could see from the lake that I did a quick sketch of:
It was incredibly peaceful out and it was nice to float hundreds of feet away from the beach where everyone was crowded. I actually managed to save this little guy too because he couldn't get out of the water, so I scooped him up, he dried himself off and once I was done with my sketch he flew off.

After paddling for a few hours I went back and grabbed the pup and took her for a walk out to the pier. She found these guys nestled in the side of the pier and I didn't even see them! She was looking at them like she was going to go after them, but she's not one for water.
And fiiiiiiinally to end my rant about my weekend, we had a storm come in across from Chicago Sunday night that I stayed out on the bluff snapping pictures for almost 2 hours. How amazing! I am always in awe of nature and how God plays in our lives. The force and might of storms in general is something to behold. I was extremely stoked to get so many good photographs whereas before I took hundreds of quick succession photos just to get ONE good one! I put my Nikon D5000 on no flash and low ISO and opened it up, rested the camera on my knees, and shut it off once the lightening bolt struck. There were truly some beautiful moments...
